Outstanding Springville Teen to Compete for Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Western New York Youth of the Year Honor
Dave Deluca is a true example of an extraordinary young man. At age 14 he has just been selected to compete against other Boys & Girls Club members for the Western New York youth of the Year title and a $1,000 scholarship from the Readers Digest Foundation. As the Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Club of Springville, Deluca is among hundreds of local youth across the country recognized by Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) for his sound character, leadership skills and willingness to give back to the community.
Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive. The title recognizes outstanding contributions to a member’s family, school, community and Boys & Girls Club, as well as personal challenges and obstacles overcome. This program was founded over 60 years ago through the generosity of the Readers Digest Foundation.
Dave is a resident of Springville and is an 8th grade student at Springville Middle School. He has been a Boys & Girls Club member for four years; he is the president of the Student Council at Springville Middle School and is captain of his football and basketball team. Dave is a well rounded individual with career goals be attending the University of Southern California and one day becoming a journalist.
If Deluca wins at the local competition he will compete for the title of New York State Youth of the year and a $1,000 scholarship from the Readers Digest Foundation.

Below on Left: The clubs' Junior Staff are recognized by traveling to Baltimore, Maryland which included an evening at the ballpark watching the Oriels take on the White Sox. On the Right: Jeff Russell Unit Director and Junior Staff enjoyed luxurious accomodations staying on a 24 foot yacht in the downtoan Baltimore Harbor.

OUR VISION
The Club and it's Board are a reputable, facility based, fully functioning, and financially stable organization that is providing positive services and programs, in a safe environment to the youth of the greater Springville area.
